In my happy place.
In my happy place.
I am a philosopher interested in the ethics and epistemology of the "inner life" (emotion, perception, personality, etc.). After earning degrees from the universities of Vienna (BA), Oxford (BPhil), and Wisconsin (PhD), I am currently a postdoctoral fellow at NYU Shanghai. Here, I am teaching recitations for a course titled "Global Perspectives on Society" and advancing my research on how minds should think and feel about each other. I grew up amidst medieval towns, baroque monasteries, and plenty of farmland in rural Austria. One of my greatest joys in life is to walk, hike, or run long distances in quiet solitude. Time permitting, I like to unearth my beloved clarinet (a Hammerschmidt in Bâ™, OH 200, Viennese system) and relive our glory days. Not too surprising for a philosopher studying character traits, I also have a soft spot for the iconic pen-and-paper roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons (which, incidentally, hails from Wisconsin!).
On a hike around my favorite Alpine lake.
Loveable bovines scattered across an Alpine pasture.
Fake degree, real joy at the Graduate School Degree Dash in Madison, Wisconsin.
